I was really looking forward to Louise and Craig’s wedding at Bryn Meadows, Golf and Spa Hotel. It was the first time I had been asked to photograph a wedding in Wales and the venue looked amazing. I headed out super early in the morning to avoid any traffic as it was over an hour’s drive for me and I wanted to get there in plenty of time and do a little exploring.

GETTING READY

Louise got ready at her mum and dad’s house with her sister Emily who was her bridesmaid. Both were soo relaxed which is a fair contrast from the usual rushing around I usually witness! In fact, the only stressed person was her dad who had lost his tie. After 20 minutes of searching, it eventually turned up in a pocket. Enough said! Once ready and everything had been lost had been found, they all headed to the church in a stunning white vintage Roadstar. Craig got ready at the venue where he stayed overnight with his best man and groomsmen. I think they even had a nice round of golf the day before to get into the swing of things, pun intended.

THE CEREMONY

The ceremony was a beautiful service at the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Blackwood. The Florist had done an amazing job of creating a grand entrance of flowers. The family has been attending the church for years and it has a special little place in their hearts. It was such a personal service. I thought the violinist was a great little touch, he was amazing!

THE RECEPTION

The reception was at Bryn Meadows, Golf & Spa Hotel, a wonderful venue with an excellent reputation throughout South Wales. The day was blessed with sunshine and clear skies and you could see for miles. The wedding breakfast was held in the marquee which was decorated with beautiful flowers and each table had a movie theme.

The couple had arranged for a couple of golf carts so that we could head out and take some shots of them together. Mine even came with a driver which I was pleased about. Driving and taking photos at the same time would have been a little tricky!

The evening dance was a good old traditional wedding shuffle and they finished off the evening with a DJ and a good old knees up and lots of inflatable musical instruments!

THE COUPLE

Louise wore a stunning dress by Allison Jayne and chose a stunning Pronovias range. Craig wore a blue suit with a flowered buttonhole and blue and white tie

They met via Tinder and have been together for 3 years. They got in touch with me last year and I loved that they were so relaxed.Louise and Craig’s wedding was so much fun and had such a chilled vibe. Here’s their awesome wedding!
