As a Bath wedding photographer, I’ve worked at the Guildhall many times, and it remains one of my favourite places in the city to shoot. The history, the architecture and the light inside the building all come together to create an incredible backdrop for a wedding. A Classic Bath Wedding Venue For anyone considering a wedding in Bath, the Guildhall is a fantastic option. It’s right in the centre of the city, close to the Abbey and the Roman Baths, and the building itself is full of character. From the grand staircase to the impressive ceremony rooms, it’s a venue that feels special the moment you walk in. Ben and Martin chose one of the Guildhall’s beautiful ceremony rooms, which worked perfectly for their intimate celebration. The space has high ceilings, elegant details and soft natural light — ideal for natural, candid photography. A Relaxed, Fun Ceremony The ceremony was full of laughter and emotion, and you could tell how much the day meant to them and their families. My approach is always to stay unobtrusive and let things unfold naturally, and the Guildhall is a brilliant venue for this. There’s plenty of space to move quietly and capture real moments without interrupting the flow of the ceremony. Portraits Around Bath After the ceremony, we took a wander outside for portraits around the city. One of the best things about getting married at the Guildhall is how close everything is — the Abbey, Parade Gardens, Pulteney Bridge and the surrounding Georgian streets all make for fantastic photo locations. Ben and Martin wanted something relaxed and simple, so we walked, talked and found a few great spots along the way. No forced poses — just natural moments and a bit of time for them to enjoy together.
